Program Kickoff
The Word Games: A National Initiative for Academic and Spiritual Excellence
Created by Youth Director of Bridgewater UMC, Jomo K. Johnson, “The Word Games” is designed to inspire children and teens through faith, education, confidence-building, and community engagement. This Bible Spelling Bee and Bible Memorization Championship combines biblical literacy, academic achievement, scholarships, leadership, and fun competition into a modern church outreach program for students grades 3–12, helping churches and families grow together through meaningful experiences.

Age Divisions
- Grades 3–4: Junior Bee
- Grades 5–6: Intermediate Bee
- Grades 7–8: Senior Bee

- Includes 4 fun weekly interactive training lessons leading up to contest.

Memorization Championship
The Word Games is a fun, encouraging, evangelistic tool designed to help churches challenge teens to know and show! We challenge teens to master Scripture with clarity and confidence through timed recitations and team-based competition, fostering leadership and intellectual growth. Churches can host monthly or quarterly as a 1 or 2 day community outreach!
